Georgia Investment Summit to take place in New York

"Georgia Investment Summit", organized by Leader Connections and Silk Road Group’s US subsidiary, SRTA will be held at Harvard Club, New York City on September 22, 2011. The aim of this summit is to attract large investments from the United States to Georgian economy. The keynote speaker at the summit will be the President of Georgia, Mr. Mikheil Saakashvili.
The summit will feature over 100 prominent guests and participants from the US business circles, including Mr. Michael Milligan, President of Verizon Global, Mr. Fred Goldring, member of U.S. President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, Mr. Michael Cohen, Vice President of the Trump Organization, Mr. Michael A. Neal, CEO of GE Capital, Senior Vice Presidents of CitiBank and Morgan Stanley.
During the summit National Geographic Society (NGS) and Silk Road Group (SRG) plan to sign a Letter of Intent aiming to issue first ever edition of the National Geographic magazine in Georgian language. The Presidents of NGS Publishing and NGS Entertainment will personally attend the signing ceremony. Unique 19th century photos of Georgia from the NGS's archives in Washington DC and the exclusive NGS world atlas will be presented to the President of Georgia.
Furthermore, Mr. Saakashvili will be receiving the prestigious «Trailblazer Award" from Leader Connections for his achievements in Georgia as a strong and progressive leader. The award will be presented by Mr. Michael Milligan, President of Verizon Global.
The speakers from the Georgian side include Mr. Giorgi Marr, Director of SRG Investments and Mr. Archil Gachechiladze from the Bank of Georgia.
Ms. Vera Kobalia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia will present investment opportunities in Georgia at the Summit.
