Silk Road Group supports Piet Mondrian exhibition in Georgia
21 Jun 2011
“Once upon a time in Holland” is the title of one of the most exciting exhibition events taking place this year in the Alexander Chavchavadze House museum in Tsinandali, Georgia. It features early works of Piet Mondrian, as well as the paintings of The Hague School artists like H.J. Weissenbruch, J.H. Maris and P.J. C. Gabriel, whose works served as an inspiration to Piet Mondrian.
The project was initiated by the Silk Road Group jointly with the Embassy of Georgia to the Kingdom of The Netherlands and the Breath Art Foundation, a Dutch charity that helps children in need in Eastern European countries. JSC Silknet, the leading Georgian provider of telecommunication and Internet services in Georgia, has provided financial support to the project.
The exhibition is presented by the Dutch gallery Simonis & Buunk. “Simonis & Buunk”, located in Ede, The Netherlands, owns a large collection of paintings and watercolors by 19th and 20th century Dutch masters. The collection has a focus on works of artists representing Dutch Romanticism and Impressionism of The Hague and Amsterdam Schools.
“Once upon a time in Holland” will be on display until 1July, 2011.
