SRG started transportation of A1 to Kandahar
07 Apr 2010
Starting with its first direct delivery of A1 to Kandahar, Silk Road Group (SRG) has demonstrated its capacity for direct deliveries of jet fuel to a specific oil terminal within Afghanistan. Over thirty trucks moved the goods from SRG terminal at the Turkmenistan/Afghanistan border on this first trucking convoy.
SRG is one of the leading rail-based transportation and logistics companies in the Caucasus and Central Asian region. It also moves over 30k MT of jet A1 per month for joint forces in Afghanistan through the Caucasus corridor to the Afghanistan border.
“After this first movement of A1 to Kandahar, we will have the necessary capacity to service any destination within Afghanistan,” says Nina Kheladze, who is supervising the Afghanistan operations out of SRG’s Dubai offices.
